David's pet pigeon becomes important because it ends up warning David and his family that the Nazis are coming. It is good that the pigeon warned them but David's mother was really the one whose idea it was to hide in the wall. Whether or not the pigeon was trying to warn David, it did so , and it saved his life.
(2) Describe the conditions of the Pustkow Vacation Camp. Why do you think the Nazi's use the term "vacation" camp?
I think the Nazi's used the term "vacation camp" so their prisoners would be less likely to try and run away. Another thought I had was that it actually used to be a camp but then the Nazi's took it over, when they invaded. I also thought they might have done it to intimidate their captives and to make them feel foolish.
(3) Write at least 2 questions you would like to ask David Faber on Friday.
Question A: Did you ever have any other pets that helped you during WWII?
Question B: Do you now if anything ever happened to people who helped you escape?
