While reading this book I learned that the Nazis used the Jewish prisoners they had captured to do work. I found this very sad because after the Germans made their Jewish prisoners finish their work they would kill them. I thought this was important because it shows how cruel and mean people can be towards people of a certain race or religion.
(2) A. In 2-3 sentences describe the family of David Faber
David Faber's family is very nice. You can tell that they are deeply thankful for people's hospitality and kindness. Even when David is very hungry, he doesn't take another piece because he wants to make sure there is enough for everyone. That is the way the whole family is, caring and thankful for everything everyone has done for them.
B. In 2-3 sentences describe why you think David remembers every last detail in the early chapters of the book?
I think David remembers every last detail in the book because the events that happened were so horrific that I don't think he will ever forget. If I were in his situation I would surely never forget. I think he tries not to think about it but it will always be there.
