Project Reflection

Project Title: Aztec Mural Project

Class: Humanities Dates: May 2, 2008

PURPOSE:

In this project we were supposed to learn about daily Aztec life. My group was responsible for making a mural about some part of Aztec society. We chose to depict the different Aztec social classes, and each of their occupations and roles in society. Also, before we were assigned to our mural group, we had to create a Power Point Presentation about the early Aztecs with a partner of our choice.

WHAT I LEARNED

During this project I learned about the many jobs that the Aztecs did, as well as the classes that made them their job. I learned that there were two schools, the schools for the nobles children, and the schools for the peasants children. At the nobles schools they were taught how to be priests and other high ranking officials, where at the peasants school they were taught how to be warriors and vender's. During this project my painting skills increased slightly and I understood more about color mixing.

REFLECTION

This project definitely wasn't one of my favorite projects, but I think overall the activities where fun and educating. I didn't like this project because my original group didn't let me do much. I feel that overall my new group did fine. We were a bit rushed towards the end of the project, but I think we still did well. Next time, I would be a bit more persistent at letting the other group members let me paint , and help my group communicate more fluently.

ARTIFACTS

If I was going to put a picture on my DP to talk about this project, I would put a picture of our mural because I think the mural basically summarizes the whole project.
