Chapter 6: Beast from Air

The Beast
September 24

Jack is stupid, but I don't have the nerve to say that to his face. He just thinks I'm an annoying little kid. He makes me watch all the little ones while they are off hunting for the beast. I can't believe Ralph doesn't stand up to him. Ralph and Jack are always embroiled in some sort of conflict, and their fighting is always interminable. I think soon we will split into 2 groups. I think the hunters will form their own colony, but they will leave us mutinously.

I'm really starting to believe there is no beast. We've been all over the island, and not a trace. Nothing! It is in our brains, the fear of being alone and the fear of certain people is scaring us. I think it's because Jack is getting waxy.

I stepped on guano today, and the littluns laughed at me! I deserve some respect.

I cant wait till we get off this island...
