Class: C
Dates: June 5th, 2008
PURPOSE:
In this project we were supposed to learn about the differences between the Renaissance and the Middle Ages. We were also supposed to learn how the Black Death affected Europe and its trade. We were required to write a minimum 3, maximum 5 page biography and/or autobiography about a historical figure that lived during the Renaissance. We were also responsible for creating a Power Point Presentation, which we showed at a Renaissance Ball that we were required to dance in.
WHAT I LEARNED
During this project, I learned information about my historical figure, Andreas Vesalius. Some facts I learned about him were that at the age of 23 he started teaching anatomy in Padua, and he wrote a Book called De Humani Corporis Fabrica, which talked about body parts and systems in the human body. I also improved on my skills in formatting my sources and citations.
REFLECTION
Overall I liked this project. I thought it was fun, and it was more interactive than other projects, because we got to dance, and actually participate in a Renaissance Ball. I think I did pretty well overall, and I think (and hope) I got a good grade. I had some trouble with my biography. When I came early after school, I downloaded my biography off my e-mail. But since I have a different word system than at my school, my biography was all distorted, so it took me about half an hour to re-format it.
ARTIFACTS
I think I will put a copy of my Power Point on my DP, because I think it summarizes what I completed in the project, and it informs the viewers about my person.
