Project Reflection

Project Title: Family History Project (FHP)

Class: Humanities Date Due: October 17, 2007

PURPOSE:

During this project we were supposed to learn about the topic or event in history we choose to study. Some requirements for this project were to create our own Thought Provoking Questions, and to Research our Subject. We were also supposed to include a Personal Narrative, a Historical Narrative, an Interview, and Photos/Memorabilia in our scrapbook, which was the final step in the FHP.

WHAT I LEARNED:
By completing this project I learned skills and information. Some of the skills I learned were Binding/Scrap Booking, how to lead an Interview, and even some Grammar and Spelling. I learned interesting facts about Italy. For example, I learned that Mussolini, the Fascist dictator of Italy, was shot by the partisans (A liberation movement in Italy during WWII) on April 28, 1945. I also learned what I think is the most important skill of all, NOT WAITING TO FINISH UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!

REFLECTION:
I found this this project a bit stressful. I found it this way because I think I left a lot of work until the last minute. This of course is my fault and this is something I would like to change in my next project. I really enjoyed the scrapbook part of this project because I think it was fun and definitely took away some of the stress of this project.

ARTIFACTS:
The artifacts that I used for this project were old family photos of my grandparents when they lived in Canada and Italy. I choose these photos because they showed the gradual "evolution" that happened to my family through the years. I think this really expresses what my family was like back then.
