(2) This quote demonstrates that Ishmael has started a new life and is trying to enjoy it as much as possible. Ishmael is trying to make a new life, and it is nice that his new cousins are helping him with that. Ishmael is going to need lots of help because of all the things he has been through.
(3) Although I am glad that Allie is helping Ishmael adapt to his new life, Allie is doing these things with Ishmael without asking Ishmael's uncle. I think Allie is just trying to help, but he should be a bit more open to telling Ishmael's uncle because I'm sure that if his uncle finds out he will be very mad.
(4) Question 1: Do you think Ishmael has completely healed or does he still have more rehabilitation to do?

(2) I chose this quote because it shows that Ishmael has never seen or experienced technology. I thought this was interesting because here, we are used to so much technology. I am very surprised that someone as smart as Ishmael could not have figured out how to use it.
(3) I would have thought that Ishmael would have at least known how to operate simple machinery. I am slightly mystified that he once used to be able to shoot and load a gun, but not operate machinery! But, I guess they don't have elevators in the jungle so that is probably the reason.
(4) Question 2: Why do you think Ishmael does not understand how to use technology? What do you think the "box" is?
