Chapter 1: The Sound of the Shell

Stupid Little Kids! September 14th

We have been marooned on this island for a day and I'm already sick of being with the other boys. Today we elected a chief, Ralph won. If only that stupid, fat, little Piggy and those little kids hadn’t voted for Ralph I would have won! Ralph dosnt deserve to be chief! The only reason the kids voted for him was because he blew the shell. What good will a shell do you, I have a knife! Besides, this is no democracy. I’ll do as I please! At least Ralph let me be the leader of the Hunters.

Piggy always whines about everything, that’s why all us other boys like to snigger at him. Today he kept bothering Ralph, Simon and me over being able to walk around the island with us. He is too fat and annoying to help with anything. All he should do is watch the little kids and keep his mouth shut. Piggy is sure to be the first one to die, then Ralph!

I’m so happy that there are no adults here! I’m free do what I want, and no one can stop me! It will be fun to live the rest off my life free. All parents do is bother and annoy you until they ship you off to boarding school. The other kids listen to Ralph likes he is a parent, they do what ever he says, but soon they will obey me!
