A. Why do Ko, Yoko, and their mother feel they must leave Korea and/or specifically, the train station in Pusan?
I think Ko, Yoko, and their mother feel unsafe in Pusan because of all the horrible things that are going on. I am pretty sure they want to leave as soon as possible because of all the rapes going on.

B. Do you agree with their decision to leave Hideyo behind? Why/why not? What would you have done in their place?
I do agree with their decision to to leave Hideyo behind because it was starting to get dangerous, with all the women that were being raped . Even though I know they love Hideyo I acknowledge there choice because they know he can protect himself and they have faith in him. I suppose I would do the same thing just for the safety of my own family (2) Question: How do you think Ko was able to adapt so quickly to the dangerous life that they've been living. Do you see her as an independent character that could survive on her own, or as a dependent character that relies on her family?
My Answer: Well I think Ko is a more independent character that could survive on her own because she is the one who is skilled at finding food and is actually the one who is teaching Yoko survival skills.

1. I think so too. They are really concerned about all of the dangers that are in Korea at that time so they want to get out ASAP.
I agree with you. They made a good desicion leaving Hideyo. Of course they might regret it but it was a good desicion.
2. I thibk that she just thought about her family and how to protect them. I think that she relies on her family because without them she would go crazy with lonliness.
1. I agree, I think that that's why they have to leave Korea and go to Japan. Yea, I'm pretty sure that they do want to leave as fast as possible.
2. I agree, they did leave Hideo behind because it was getting really dangerous. I feel really sorry for the woman because they were getting raped =(. Also Hideo is really mature and he can handle things by himself.
3. I think that Ko is an independant character. I think that because she can handle things by herself. I think that Ko can survive on her own.

1. B: I agree with you becuase hideo is strong and brave and he will not go down without a fight.
Q: I think she adapted quicky becuase she knows that she has to do these things to surive.
