The Wave Post 3

(1) What evidence do you see in the text that Mr. Ross is starting to lose control of his "experiment?" Try to cite at least two examples.
Two things that jumped out at me as clues that Mr. Ross starting to lose control were first the membership cards and second the "Wave Rally". I thought the membership cards were a sign because he's not running a club or anything... he's teaching! And also the "Wave Rally" to welcome more wave members is a really odd thing!

(2) Choose a quote that jumped out at you as extremely interesting, unusual or important.
A quote that seemed important and surprising to me was "At first Robert Billings seemed tentative about joining them, but when David saw him he insisted he sit at the table, telling him they were all part of The Wave now." This quote seemed important to me because it really made me stop reading and think, is the wave really working? Will Robert finally be treated with the respect he deserves? It struck me as odd that one day Robert would be picked on, then the next he'd be treated with respect! Odd how the tides can turn so quickly.

(3) Question: Do you think if Mr. Ross were to stop doing this experiment, Robert Billings would be picked on again, or would the school still be united? If you were Mr. Ross, would you stop or continue the wave?

1. Oh yeah. Membership cards. I TOTALLY AGREE! I think thats really loseing it. I mean who want join a club with (well not really a club) membership? I know I wouldn't. Yes, the rally is loseing it very much! That would be weird to see. But I would want to see it, to like see how it works. (We think alike)

2. Great quote. I think that it would be different if a nerd joined but also interesting. I think this because, nreds would have different ideas, different thoughts. I'd want to hear and see them think and share ideas. Great job.

3. I think that Robert might not get picked on because he is being a great leader right now during the Wave. I remember that Mrs. Saunders told Laurie that Robert is like a new person, maybe he might stay that way. I also think that the school might still be united with Mr. Ross or not because David taught the football team without Mr. Ross. If I was Mr. Ross I will continue the Wave beacause alot of the students are proud of the Wave and I will be glad.

2. I like the quote that you chose. I liked it because that also made me stop and think too. I asked myself that exact same question "Is the wave really working?". Good Job! =)

3. Wow great question! Well yes, i think if there was no Wave, Robert would be picked on. I think this because, with The Wave, people expressed there ideas and did more stuff together. Without, it would be the same. People being picked on, and being mean. The Wave is making them a team. Yes if I were Mr. Ross i'd stop. It was already getting weird when they played the game and with the uinform I think. Great question!

2.I think that it means that the wave works in certain ways. Robert probably felt good not being left out because i sure hate that.
3.I think that some people might change back to their old habits and others might take the wave in perspetive and hang out with Robert give him an equal chance
